Our Incredible Kitsap Peninsula and Bainbridge Island Tour!

Get out of Seattle’s concrete jungle and explore beautiful Bainbridge Island and the Kitsap Peninsula in the middle of the Puget Sound! To understand the Pacific Northwest is to get to know the neighborhoods and communities that surround our city. This day trip to Kitsap Peninsula and Bainbridge Island takes you away from the mainland of Seattle on a beautiful ferry ride into the center of Puget Sound. The first stop is in the heart of Bainbridge Island, where we will explore the small businesses on the main street of Winslow Way.

Visit Bloedel Reserve on this guided Bainbridge Island Day Trip

Next, we drive to the northern end of the island to explore the historic Bloedel Reserve. The trails of the 150-acre forest garden explore a Japanese Garden, landscaped lakes, immaculate lawns, a moss garden, a rhododendron glen, and views of the city from the property’s French-Chateau-style Manor House.

After exploring the grounds of the Bloedel Reserve we leave Bainbridge Island via the Agate Pass Bridge to see the grave of Chief Seattle (Sealth), chief of the Duwamish and Suquamish Native Americans. The visit to the grave will be followed by a visit to the Squamish History Museum to learn about the culture of the First Nation tribe.

A Day Trip to Kitsap Peninsula with lunch in Port Gamble and a Poulsbo visit

Next, we drive to the charming former mill town of Port Gamble for lunch and shopping before stopping at a local park for sweeping views of Hood Canal and the bridge that connects the Olympic and Kitsap Peninsula. We then drive through the small old town district of Poulsbo, known amongst locals as “Little Norway” based on its history as a Scandinavian fishing village.

The ferry ride home may offer a beautiful sunset from the sundeck depending on the time of the year and tour start time. Upon arrival in Seattle, your guide will drop you off at your hotel or wherever you choose to eat dinner.
